Joint project: New high-power downlights with Duris S 10 LEDs

Duris S 10 LEDs are part of Osram’s CAS (Chip Array in SMD package) product family. They are characterized by high efficiency, high light output and uniform color appearance. According to the small package of 7.0 mm x 7.0 mm and a light-emitting surface of only 7.7 mm (diameter) the Duris S 10 offers great flexibility for the design of the new Alverlamp downlights. The LEDs feature a high lumen package of 1050 and a maximum luminous efficiency of 125 lm/W.

Together with the new power supply jointly designed by Alverlamp and Osram Opto Semiconductors, the downlights can reach a total yield of 93%, offering an efficiency of 116 lm/W and a brightness of 5812 lm. The downlights are available with 3000 and 4000 K, both versions featuring 50 W. Efficient SMD technology (surface mounted device) makes LED assembly simple. These properties lead to significant cost savings in system and optic design, which may be as high as 30% depending on the particular customer application.

The bodies of the downlights are injected with Zamak and painted with Epoxy – a combination that perfectly ensures heat dissipation. Their aluminum reflectors have a conical shape allowing an angle of 60º. A frosted glass cover finally complements the aesthetic design of the downlights. Due to an integrated ring assembly is very easy. With its high luminous efficacy and good cost efficiency the downlights are ideal for professional lighting applications in offices, shops or airports.
