Osram Opto Semiconductors Offers Core LED Components for GE Smart Lamp C by GE Sol
C by GE Sol, GE’s latest smart lamp embedded with voice control function and shaped like a simple but fashionable circle, has now hit the market. You’re sure to be happily surprised by its unique shape and cross-boundary creative design: the outer ring is a voice-activated smart light, while the inner ring is a light display clock.

Thanks to the smart voice control function of C by GE Sol, users can turn on the lamp and free their hands. Meanwhile, multi-mode lighting effects create a cozy ambient for living. Users are able to control the luminance and colour temperature via smart voice function, and the wide colour temperature range can meet multiple lighting demands from cold light to warm light at different times in different scenes. As for the light-based clock, blue light and red light represent the hour-hand and minute-hand, displaying different times on the clock face represented by the annulus.
Osram Opto Semiconductors is offering core LED components for C by GE Sol. The light-based clock of inner ring adopts the LRTB GVTG colour product out of Osram Opto Semiconductors’ Multiled series. LRTB GVTG packs together the RGB 3 in 1 chip arranged in a line, ensuring consistent display and vivid colour expression from all angles. The packed RGB 3 in 1 chip can be controlled individually to display different colour lights reliably and consistently.
The white light source of the outer ring utilizes GW JCLPS2.EM product out of its Duris E3 series. The Duris E3 is designed with a compact format (3.0 mm x 1.4 mm), and fits perfectly for annular applications. The 120° beam angle focuses the light of each LED into a dense array overlapping the light of adjacent LEDs, avoiding individual lighting points and making C by GE Sol a light ring with homogenous colours. In addition to 3000K and 6500K colour temperature products, Osram Opto Semiconductors also customized 2000K colour temperature products to comprehensively satisfy the needs of household lights for different cold and warm lights.
“Osram Opto Semiconductors was the first to take part in the design of C by GE Sol. To make this lamp suitable for the demands of human biological clock, we enriched the colour temperature settings of the outer ring. Before you go to bed, it can offer dark amber light that is conducive to sleep. When you wake up, it changes to clear blue light. We believe that light technology will make our lives better,” noted Shao Jiaping, Head of the Greater China General Lighting Department of Osram Opto Semiconductors.
