Because of the color of many important buildings, Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, is also known as the “Pink City”. OSRAM Lighting Solutions developed an LED lighting concept which underlines the unique architecture of the historic city center and breathes new life into the numerous cultural monuments in the three-million-inhabitant city at night.

State-of-the-art OSRAM LED luminaires for historic city center of Jaipur
Along a stretch of 5.7 km comprising 425 monuments, about 6,600 OSRAM LED luminaires, including linear lighting systems such as the Traxon Nano Linear Allegro and spotlights for area lighting such as the Traxon Washer Allegro, create an impressive revival. A total of 30 different OSRAM LED luminaire systems with 15 beam angles and eight color temperatures are used for lighting the historic city center including the City Palace and the surrounding avenues.

The new LED lighting concept combines a historic cultural heritage site with state-of-the-art architecture, linking new and old lifestyles in Jaipur. “We have built something that wasn't there before. The new lighting bathes the city in a very special light,” says Viswanathan Ashok, Head of Sales at OSRAM Lighting Solutions India.
