More than 8,000 students are studying annually at Ekami Group. There are about 350 employees and operating income in 2017 was EUR 30.5 million. Three of the campuses are located in Kotka and one in Hamina. Ekami Malminki Campus offers professional training and education in the machine and metal industries as well as in the construction industry. These facilities require good lighting to improve occupational safety, as well as high-precision work steps and student comfort.

SiCOMPACT: sustainable quality for outdoor areas

The exterior of the building is also bathing in new lighting: old wall luminaires with mercury vapor lamps were replaced with Siteco SiCOMPACT LED floodlights located on the wall on the lift doors. The asymmetrical optics of the luminaires create homogenous highquality and bright lighting at the entrance and the front of the building.

Compact High Bay GEN II: Better visibility indoors

The illumination at building 8 of Malminki campus was upgraded - both indoor and outdoor. Siteco Compact High Bay LED GEN II was installed to replace old high pressure sodium lamps in the building's workshop halls; and their high-quality optics work perfectly. The 4000K color temperature creates optimum illumination and a fresh look. The luminaires were mounted on existing feed rails, so the installation costs remained moderate.

Ekami Real Estate Manager Harri Laine praised the speed of deliveries and the technical quality of the luminaires. He also said that the teachers gave very positive feedback about the improved lighting in the premises. The luminaires were supplied by Ekami's reliable and long-term local partner SLO (Kotka office), whose sales manager Pekka Sunila was also very pleased with the lighting solutions in the facility.
